  • 1 can (15 ounces) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (15 ounces) black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (4 ounces) chopped green chilies

  • Shredded cheddar cheese, for serving
  • Sour cream, for serving

How to Make Spicy Slow Cooked Chili:

  1. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned, breaking it up into crumbles. Drain any excess fat.
  2. Add the chopped onion and garlic to the skillet with the ground beef. Cook for another 3-4 minutes, or until the onion is soft and translucent.
  3. Transfer the cooked beef, onion, and garlic to a slow cooker. Add the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, kidney beans, black beans, green chilies, beef broth, chili powder, cumin, paprika, and cayenne pepper (if using) to the slow cooker. Stir to combine.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, stirring occasionally.
  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Serve the chili hot, topped with shredded cheddar cheese, sour cream, chopped green onions, and tortilla chips on the side.
